Coyaba River Garden
Two kilometers (1 1/4 miles) from the center of Ocho Rios, at an elevation of 126m (420 ft.), Coyaba River Garden and museum were built on the grounds of the former Shaw Park plantation.
The word coyaba comes from the Arawak name for paradise. Coyaba is a Spanish-style museum with a river and gardens filled with native flora, a cut-stone courtyard, fountains, and a crafts shop and bar. Coyaba River Garden museum boasts a collection of artifacts from the Arawak, Spanish, and English settlements in the area.
